Villandry, St James

www.villandry.com

Villandry’s restaurant in St James is located at 12 Waterloo Place, south of Piccadilly just off Pall Mall. Situated in a grand 1913 Edwardian baroque building, it continues Villandry’s aim to develop large restaurants in outstanding architectural spaces in central London.  With a touch of French Mediterranean style, the restaurant enjoys views across to Big Ben.

The restaurant has 170 seats, half in a formal dining area and half in a more informal café format. It also has two private dining rooms on the mezzanine, offering sophisticated food and good wines at reasonable prices.

Marquee AV designed and installed the audio systems throughout the venue, and video systems in the private dining rooms for major sports and other events.

The audio system is digitally controlled by a Biamp Nexia network processor, with Biamp remote control wall panels strategically located for simple control and ease of use by the restaurant’s staff. Bose Freespace micro-cube loudspeakers were chosen in each area, to minimise visual impact on the aesthetics, and these are driven by an APart multi-channel power amplifier.

Designer mirror-glass TVs were installed in the private dining rooms. When in use they viewed as a normal high resolution televisions, but their appearance become mirrors when not in use. Wall panels for VGA and HDMI video and audio input are provided, for connection of computers or other sources, along with the installation of Blu-ray disk players.

Villandry’s MD, Philippe Le Roux, commented on the installation, “We have been both impressed and delighted by the service and excellent sound provided by Marquee AV”
