Babington House – Hotel AV Installation
Babington House and its 17-acre estate dates back to early Georgian times. Nestling in the midst of rolling Somerset hills, the estate includes a luxury 28-bedroom hotel and spa and a 16th Century Church. The 28 rooms of the hotel are located in the Main House, Coach House, Stable Block and Lodge and are individually designed and equipped with the latest technology from plasma screens and DVD players to wireless internet access.
The Cowshed is a fully comprehensive spa facility with swimming pools, steam, sauna and aroma rooms, treatment cabins, studio and a gym. Marquee AV designed and installed the audio and video systems throughout the complex. In the guestrooms this included Sony Bravia TVs, with DVD and Denon hi-fi all on a single remote control, and Sony PlayStations. Throughout the public areas, bars and restaurant, background music is provided from C-Burn hard disk media systems, which get on with the job of providing music with minimal attention by staff.
A variety of loudspeakers were chosen by Marquee to provide the best solutions in each area. Sonance loudspeakers are used in the indoor and outdoor pools, treatment areas and sauna; Tannoy loudspeakers cover the indoor pool and Bose loudspeakers are used for the covered dining area. A speciality of Babington House is weddings, in the beautiful St Margarets’ Church. With limited capacity, and to avoid disruptive camera use, Marquee installed a complete video system with appropriately placed cameras in the chapel. These are wirelessly linked back to the main building for display of the ceremony on large monitors and for recording of the whole event to DVD.
