The Living Planet Centre is home to the WWF Experience – an exciting interactive exhibition that brings the wild to life right in the centre of Woking. Awarded “Outstanding” by BREEAM, the world’s leading design and assessment method for sustainable buildings, the Living Planet Centre shows how it is possible for people to live in harmony with nature.

The Centre shows that through the smart use of design, materials and technology, it is possible to create a state-of-the-art building with minimal environmental impact. The WWF Experience in the Living Planet Centre is open to the public and also offers special workshops and activities for school and youth groups. Visitors can explore each zone and find out about the wonders of the natural world and experience the sights of the diverse natural environments, and learn how WWF is working to protect them.

Marquee AV designed and installed the audio and visual systems throughout the Centre, working closely with WWF to ensure all solutions met the project’s needs and expectations. Areas covered include the reception, WWF exhibition area, auditorium, education room, knowledge centre/training room, boardroom, project room, open plan office and workshop areas, mezzanine workspace and café. The audio and visual solutions employed are diverse to cover the individual requirements and purpose of each area of the Centre.

Leading edge solutions in electronics, loudspeakers and control systems were used throughout, including Tannoy passive array loudspeakers in the exhibition and auditorium areas, smart interactive boards and smart TVs with discreet Audica sound systems in the board and knowledge/training rooms, and Tandberg video conferencing in the boardroom. Other key equipment includes Symetrix Digital processing and control, Lab.gruppen amplifiers, Audio-Technica radio mics, Christie projectors and Yamaha audio mixing. Both induction loop and infrared assisted hearing systems were employed in the project.
